The long (but only 10 minutes) trip home!

We made it!! Ha, boy was that a scary drive with precious cargo in tow! But it was interstate all the way home. We're home, now what?! They let us take this baby home?!

Welcome to the world baby boy!

I hate to be one of those "oh it didn't hurt at all" women- but it wasn't that bad! Of course it wasn't a walk in the park, but it wasn't a near death experience either lol. I was induced the morning of October 28th and of course he still wasn't ready to come out! So after two "rounds" of meds, the Dr. came in to check around noon on the 29th ( I was only dilated to 1cm forever) and she said, "wow, it's time to push!" I was so in shock that I just cried out of sheer terror that I was actually having this baby!! She said don't be a wuss and push! and VERY quickly, there he was :)

As you can see, he was a very alert newborn! The nurses kept commenting- I should have known I was in for it then! He is not a very good napper. Thankfully it isn't to bad at night. He still wakes up about every two hours to eat, but he goes right back to sleep. During the day he will only sleep on my chest. I'm really embracing this time tough; as frustrating as it is sometimes that I can't get anything done because he hates to be put down, I know I will not have this time for long. Everyone has given almost the same advice: who cares about the housework, it will get done eventually but  you will never get this time back, so enjoy it. Once I started thinking with that mindset, it made things a lot easier. Although my back feels like it's going to break, I love the closeness of holding him all day!!

Update!

Sooo, two months later I am finally logging back in and updating! As everyone knows now, he's here! I went in for my normal weekly check up and my blood pressure was still a little high. When I was leaving, the Dr. checked it one last time and it had gone up some more. BUT I had been waiting forever! What 41 week, hungry pregnant lady wants to wait forever?! I was supposed to go to lunch with Alli that day, but instead I was sent to the hospital to have a baby! wowzers was that scary and unexpected! But hey, it had to happen soon anyway, right?
Not long after I was checked in and hooked up to the monitors. I was induced and had the baby October 29, 2013 @ 12:22 p.m. He was 6 pounds 12 ounces- 19.75 inches long!
It was an easy delivery, 5 quick pushes and he was out! It really was a moment of bliss- scary too lol. I hope to have the time to put up as many pictures as possible. So far, he has been a little difficult to say the least :) he has "slight colic" per the Dr. But it's getting better, we are finding what works and getting in to some sort of routine.

Hope you enjoy what's to come :)

Update 38- 40 weeks

So these last few weeks have been a little difficult. I really haven't felt like taking any pictures :( I am getting the normal puffiness of pregnancy-heartburn galore! I can fit into one pair of sandals!! (insert sarcastic woohoo!) I was told to officially stop working on Thursday; my blood pressure was a concern at the last visit. I have to lay on my side the majority of the day to reduce fluid retention. So since I have such a hard time sitting still in general, I've been doing one task and then laying for a little bit before doing the next thing. ( I am still technically following the rules :) I am scheduled to go back on Tuesday for a stress test for the baby. This is normal for women who go to 40 weeks, no worries! I can't believe I am at 40 weeks! The Dr. said they will induce me on the 31st if I don't have him before then. Sooo, lets hope he does come before!!!! I am so happy and feel so lucky to have had such an easy pregnancy, but I am definitely over it :(       C'MON JAXON!!

37 Weeks

I did not write anything for 37 weeks :( If I did, I cannot remember lol. Obviously, I am still behind. This is the week I started to get busy. I actually did not get a chance (or I could have been too tired lol) to take a 38 week photo either. The "agreement" Jaxon & I had (for him to come at 38 weeks:) did not happen either lol. At 37 weeks I was still feeling fine, but definitely feeling pregnant!

36 Weeks

Baby is the size of a: Coconut! They are pretty heavy lol. The baby weighs about 6 pounds already!! I seriously CANNOT believe I am 36 weeks! If all goes as planned (what does with pregnancy lol) I only have 2 more weeks. You see,  Jaxon & I had a talk and he understands that I am uncomfortable and he should come out sooner. So, at 38 weeks he should be making his appearance; unless of course he forgets :) He will come when he feels like it :))
How I'm feeling: I am still doing pretty darn good! The back pain, of course, has not gone away. Put that with my aching feet, I am sure I have one hot walk going on lol. But, I am still able to do every day things. My house is clean, laundry is done and I'm still making dinner! Heck, I don't even make Gary go to the grocery store :) It's better that way, he doesn't rush me :)
Sleeping: Oh bladder, why do you do this to me?! I have slept so good almost my entire pregnancy! It is just getting worse. Although, I have found a new love of strawberry milk, so a couple of nights I had the "I don't care if I'm up all night, this milk is happening right now" attitude and had a glass before bed. It was worth it at the time!
Craving: I still don't really crave anything. I like a lot lol. I still love watermelon, but now that I bought strawberry syrup, strawberry milk is awesome. I know, it's not the best thing to drink- but it's sooo good!
Missing: I am still struggling with having to be cautious with certain things, like lifting. Or gardening. I really want to pull out the bushes in the front yard, but I can't :( Soon enough though!
Maternity clothes: Ok, I got one shirt this week. It was on clearance at Target for $5!
Wedding ring: I put it on my necklace! I am so nervous about it though. I DO NOT want to lose it & I'm so afraid I will. But at least I can have it on me. It makes me feel better knowing that I have it instead of leaving it at home.
Movement: Of course. I realized one night this week while eating dinner that I see now why these women take pictures with plates of food on their bellies! My belly isn't big enough for that, but it is so hard to sit up and eat. He has no room in there, I constantly have to lean back whenever I sit. The recliner in our house has been a good seat for me lately.
Showing: I cannot believe I still fit in to this shirt! (and it's not even a maternity shirt:) My mom will be happy to see I followed through and have it on for every picture!
Signs of labor: Braxton Hicks a couple of times this week! I am down to every week at the Dr now, so I'm sure they will be looking for the signs. OHHH eMMm GeeEE I am soooo incredibly scared! I've had a couple people say I better be excited. Don't get me wrong, I am- It's just the huge fear of the unknown! like the BIGGEST unknown for a woman who does not have children.. the excitement will come when he is here. For now, I am scared for my lady parts lol
Looking forward to: My appointment in a couple of days. The last 2 appointments have been very rushed and I was not happy. So hopefully it was just a busy couple of days for them and this week will be better.

Baby Shower

Just a few pictures : )
